I found the Chinese magnolia and the bird in a Chinese book and thought this is a great design for the tray I wanted to paint.The tray is very simple and I bought it at IKEA for less. It is made out of wood which is a great surface to paint on. I decided to use oil paint. See below the tray before I painted it.
