Decorating Ideas for Your Girl’s Room

Do you have a girly girl? I mean a girl who loves pink forever, and all attributes connected with it?
If so, you might like the French design for your girl’s room, which I want to show to you.
For this mural I did for a 11 year old girl some time ago, we were chosing the typical French items, like the  Eiffel tower, the French pink poodle or the French Set.
It is a cute decorating idea which you can do yourself or by hiring a mural painter.

Add a Paris Theme
The Eiffel tower is a traditional Parisian landmark and should not be missing in this conecpt. We placed it next to the bed.
Over the bed I painted the French Set: facial powder with a brush, nail varnish and a lipstick, surrounded by whimsical roses and whirls.

Add Pink
The Girl’s French room has many elements and a dominating color is pink. A poodle was absolutely a must.
On one wall I painted a bag with the famous “o-la-la” poodle theme. The background: Around the bag whimsical roses and whirls in charcoal black.

Bon jour and Mon ami!
Over the wardrobe we decided to have some typical French phrases and “Bonjour mon ami” which means “Hi, my friend”, seemed to match the whole theme.

Refinished bathroom cabinet

Bored to see the same old cabinets? Tired of the oak style? I understand.

If your bathroom of powder room lacks of  colors or a special design, it can be changed just by refinishing the cabinets alone. On the picture the cabinet was refinished in a shabby chic style, so it has  a nice contrast to the tiles.

If you are unhappy about the wall color, I can give you a FREE consultation.

Yes.  So the make-over does not have to eat up your savings either!

Sophisticated Dining

Dining Table

I wanted to create a finish for a dining table which should look elegant but also rustic. So I asked myself, is this possible?

The table was dark brown, had many spots and looked shabby and not shabby chic. It was used a lot, the leaves were blocked and with a false movie the whole table would crash – but I got it really cheap.

Antique white was my base color, umber for the accents. I added thin layers, took parts off, distressed the edges and legs.  Then I decided to add the elegant part, the fleur de lyss.

When it was done I was surprised myself, the combination of elegant and rustic was achieved.

I just had to find six matching chairs – I found them. Lucky I was indeed.

Rustique refinished shelf

FOR SALE – $300

It’s not blue, it’s not gray – this special refinish is called ” Dusty Morning”.

When I saw this shelf, I thought, I ‘m going to make something special out of it. It is not a real antique, no. But it is a good reproduction of an antique piece, so it is a basic piece I can work with.
There is a drawer on the bottom with designer knobs.

Faux Finished French Country Door

The bathroom was completly built from scratch and my client likes the French Country Style  a lot as it is throughout her charming Old Pasadena home.

She had her bathroom furniture customized and the faux finish plus the matching windows and doors made the it perfect indeed

As you can see on the picture the door is matching the tiles both on the floor and around the shower.
